Since we are a custom size manufacturer, we make everything to order. Therefore, you will not find finished items on hand for purchase. Standard sizes are still made to order as if they were custom.
Any non-abrasive cleaner will work best on our products. Most aerosols and pump sprays will list cultured stone as safe to clean with their product. Abrasive cleansers like Comet or Soft Scrub will dull the finish and should not be used on our smooth high-gloss finish. Also watch the ammonia content in cleaners and use options with a lower ammonia content.
GelGloss is a product that acts like a polish to restore and protect the shiny gelcoat finish on the cultured products. When used every few months, you can keep your cultured surfaces smooth and looking “showroom new” while protecting the gelcoat finish. We sell GelGloss in an aerosol can for under $10.
Cleaning cultured surfaces is easy and one of the many benefits of our cultured products over natural stone. All cultured surfaces have a gelcoat finish that resists scratches and stains. Cleaning is easy with any non-abrasive cleanser (no grit) and a clean rag or paper towel. Avoid homemade concoctions that may have a higher concentration of caustic or acidic solvents like bleach or vinegar. Over the counter products are safer. On textured surfaces like cultured shower bases, you can safely use Comet or Barkeepers Friend abrasive cleansers from time to time to remove stubborn ground-in dirt from the textured bottom of the shower base.
NO! The hi-gloss, gelcoat finish is non-porous and will not allow any moisture penetration so wine, spaghetti sauce, nail polish and other notorious staining liquids will not affect it. If you spill something that dries on the cultured surface, clean with soap and water. For tough to remove products like nail polish, pour a small amount of acetone on a rag and wipe the dried material off the cultured surface. Do not use abrasives like steel wool to remove anything stuck to the countertop surface as it will scratch or dull the cultured surface.
If you drop or drag something on the cultured surface that leaves a chip or a deep scratch, do not stress out! We have great success repairing chips and removing scratches. Just give us a call.
